About Trujillo
Trujillo was founded in 1534 by Diego de Almagro, under the name “Villa of Truxillo”. With the passing of time Trujillo would consolidate as one of the most important cities of the Peruvian viceroyalty, for being an administrative and commercial center, essential for the colonial system. About Yurimaguas
Yurimaguas or “The Huallaga’s Pearl” is a city of the north area of Peru, capital of the Alto Amazonas province, in the department of Loreto. It is located in the confluence of the Huallaga and Paranapura rivers. Its name comes from the joining of the Yuris Indians with the Omaguas. It is famous for the formation of native villages like Munichis, Motilones de Lamas and, later, the Yurimaguas that came from Brasil. Yurimaguas is known for its cane sugar crops, bananas, cotton and tobacco.
