Interprovincial Buses
Interprovincial buses have long been used for the collection, transport and landing of passengers to any destination in Peru. In the beginning, this service was not regulated, so it did not offer security to its passengers. Interprovincial buses were regulated by the drivers themselves, not by some entity, so the prices were varied and the standard safety standards were not met (such as that no person was standing in the aisle or that the bags were ordered in one place).
After the respective regulation and the emergence of transport companies, all this began to change gradually. Interprovincial buses, or at least most of them, were backed by a company that had to comply with the provisions of the law. Then, the buses had different implementations according to safety regulations, which created a trip where the passenger was protected.
Today, although there are several informal companies, most of these interprovincial buses operate under the command of controlled operators. That is why today you can find different types of buses, each equipped for different user needs. For example, you can find the regular service and the VIP, which have different amenities.
The increase of interprovincial buses shows the growth of this industry in Peru. Currently, this business moves around S / 1,600 million.
