About Huaytara
The district of Huaytará belongs to the departament of Huancavelica and it was founded in 1984. The origin of tis name comes of the quechua words "wayta" (flower) and "raq" (it will bloom). Huaytará is a very warm place with a anual average temperature that doesn't usually decreased to less than 10°C. However, during the cold season, that is between june and august, it can get really frosty.

- Due to the high altitude, it is very probable that you can get sick. You need to buy a pill on the drugstore, mostly called as Grabol. Other recommendations are resting on the first day and avoid any heavy food.

The best season to visit Huaytará is from April and November, in which the climate is warm because the sun is always present. We recommend you to travel in this season because in other months the coldness can be too much.
