About Juliaca
Juliaca is a city that belongs to the Puno region and is 3824 meters above sea level. It is very popular with tourists due to the February carnivals, in which the Pachamama is celebrated. Juliaca is also known as "The Windy City" due to the prevailing winds. Today it is one of the most important cities for the economy of the region, a role that began since a railway station was built in that part of Peru in 1873.
