About Pomata
Pomata is a locality located in the district of the same name. It is in the department of Puno, in the southern Peruvian area. Pomata is very close to Lake Titicaca. The name of this locality derives from the Aymara "puma uta", which means house of the puma in Spanish. Pomata was the place where Lloque Yupanque, the third Inca of the Empire, rested for a couple of days during his trip to Desaguadero. Today, it is growing economically in several sectors, one of them being tourism due to its great tourist attractions that conquer travelers, both national and international.

How to move around Pomata?
To move around in Pomata, the tourist has 2 options: public bus, commonly regulated by the municipality or the authority in charge, or taxi, driven by a citizen who provides the service.
● Public bus: It is the most popular way of transporting within the city, as well as being very economical. The fare, also called a ticket, does not usually go up from S/5 per person. The public bus has different stops where it picks up passengers, so the trip can be a bit slow.

● Pomata by plane: At the moment there is no direct flight to Pomata, but an alternative route that can be taken is to reach Juliaca with the Inca Manco Capac International Airport and from there depart to Pomata by bus.
